At ARI we integrate therapeutic massage with Dr. Caitlyn Dlugas with other therapy treatments to maximize results for our clients. We have seen remarkable results with their integrated treatment for depression, anxiety, PTSD, sexual trauma, and relationship problems.
Dr. Dlugas provides cranial sacral massage and myofascial release using The Graston Technique to one partner, while she assists the other partner in learning some of the techniques she is using. She provides treatments to each partner, but also instructs each partner in how to provide relief from muscle tension and to use touch as a means of healing each other. Dr. Dlugas provides a full, complex therapeutic treatment to each partner, but also teaches them each simply ways they can contribute to each other’s healing throughout the week. Partners are explicitly taught these massage techniques to break up the facia, calcifications and scaring that has occurred as a part of the body’s stress response. These simple, but effective, massage techniques give partners a new, concrete way of reaching and receiving physically, in a manner that is nurturing and facilitates each other’s healing. Touch then becomes experienced and incorporated into their repertoire of co-regulating, soothing and healing one another. Former fight, flight, or freeze responses to touch become rewired, and transformed into a healing release from tension and pain. The partner becomes experienced as an agent of healing and a facilitator of freedom from pain and fear.
