The Science and Practice of Fulfilling Relationships

Based on the book: Hold Me Tight®: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love (Dr. Sue Johnson)

Join us for a transformative, in-person relationship workshop at The Arizona Relationship Institute. This educational, interactive experience is based on Dr. Sue Johnson’s research and the empirically supported couples therapy model Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

You and your partner will learn practical “Hold Me Tight®” skills to help you improve connection, strengthen emotional safety, and shift out of stuck conflict patterns—so your relationship can feel more secure, supportive, and close.

Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance accepted.

What You’ll Learn / Practice

  • How disconnection and conflict cycles get started—and how to interrupt them
  • How to identify the emotional needs and attachment bonds underneath reactions
  • Ways to communicate more clearly and effectively during difficult moments
  • Tools to repair emotional injuries and rebuild trust
  • Practical exercises to nurture intimacy and strengthen your bond

About the Workshop

This workshop blends research-based education with guided, structured exercises you’ll apply directly to your relationship. You’ll gain insight into your patterns, practice new ways of reaching for each other, and leave with tools you can continue using at home.

(Many couples find this format accelerates progress; it can be a powerful complement to couples therapy.)

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop isn’t only for couples. The material applies broadly to relationships and connection.

  • Couples at any stage who want more closeness, better communication, and healthier conflict repair
  • Individuals who want to understand relationship patterns and build secure connection skills (we recommend attending with a friend to do the exercises with)

Spots are limited.
