A number of benefits come from participating in psychotherapy. Often it is helpful just to know that someone understands you.

Therapy can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem and point you in the direction of a solution.

Many people find therapy to be a tremendous asset to managing their personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, and the hassles of daily life.

The benefits you obtain from therapy depend on how well you use the process and put into practice what you learn. Some other benefits from therapy include:

  • • Attaining a better understanding of yourself and your personal goals and values.

  • • Developing skills for improving your relationships.

  • • Finding resolution to the issues or concerns that led you to seek therapy.

  • • Finding new ways to cope with stress and anxiety.

  • • Managing anger, depression, and other emotional pressures.

  • • Improving communications skills – learn how to listen to others, and have others listen to you.

  • • Getting “unstuck” from unhealthy patterns – breaking old behaviors and develop new ones.

  • • Discovering new ways to solve problems.

  • • Improving your self-esteem and boosting self-confidence will fit best with your needs.

If you’re not sure what your goals are for therapy, your first task is to figure that out. It may take several sessions before a direction is clarified.

During the course of therapy your goals may change. However, establishing a direction for therapy will help you get the most out of the experience.

We have multiple therapists who offer evening and Saturday appointments.

Call our office at 480.788.5069 to get more information and schedule your appointment.

We are licensed as a behavioral health facility and have a contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

The amount of coverage depends on your plan, so we encourage you to check with your network to verify the details of your benefits.

You are responsible for understanding what your plan does and does not cover. We can verify benefits upon scheduling but cannot guarantee your coverage until the first service is billed and returned to us from your insurance. Please be aware, we are not a contracted Medicaid or Medicare provider.

If you do not carry BCBS, you may be able to get reimbursed by your insurance, if your plan provides reimbursement for out-of-network services.

Some clients have been able to get reimbursed for up to 50%.

Please contact your network to find out if you are eligible for reimbursement. Upon your request, your receipt will include the codes and information required by insurance companies for reimbursement of out-of-network therapy services.

It is your responsibility to submit your receipts and obtain any reimbursement from your insurance company.

*Be sure to mention we are a licensed behavioral health facility when you call your network to verify your benefits, as it differs from general group practices.

Please note that some clients prefer private pay options rather than using insurance for several reasons including:

Lack of privacy, due to insurance providers being privy to medical records,

To receive treatment from a specialized provider that may help move you towards your goals more quickly,

Dictated treatment length or number of sessions using insurance

WHEN CALLING TO CHECK YOUR COVERAGE, CONSIDER ASKING YOUR INSURANCE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

  • • Do I have mental health benefits?
  • • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
  • • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
  • • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
  • • Does my plan cover couple or family therapy? Or does it ONLY cover individual therapy?

It is vital that you feel safe and have complete confidence in the therapist you are working with. Just like any relationship, there are some people you will feel more comfortable with than others.

We recommend you talk directly with your therapist about your concerns. You are also invited to speak directly with the Executive Director, Dr. Lisa Gold, at any time during your treatment.

We are committed to providing you with the highest quality service and treatment. Upon your request, we would be happy to connect you with another therapist (at AZRI or outside our agency) that better serves your treatment goals.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Dr. Gold or any of the therapists at AZRI if you ever feel you are not making the progress you desire.

AZRI provides The Millon® Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-IV (MCMI®-IV) (2015). We recommend our clients complete this assessment to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the assessment process.

The MCMI®-IV is a 195 item self-report instrument designed to help clinicians assess adults age 18 years or older who are undergoing a psychological or psychiatric assessment or treatment.

The MCMI®-IV helps clinicians quickly identify clients who may require more intensive evaluation. It provides an in-depth report with an analysis of personality and symptoms dynamics, including action-oriented suggestions for therapeutic treatment.

The MCMI®-IV is conducted using a web-based Pearson’s Q-Global Web Based Administration, Scoring and Reporting program. The test takes approximately 25-30 minutes. Results will be received by your therapist and interpreted in the session following testing.

The cost of the MCMI®-IV is $150. This can be charged to a card or paid in cash on the day of the test administration.

If you are interested in taking the MCMI®-IV please contact us at 480-788-5069 for more information.
