Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Therapy & Counseling Utilizing DBT Therapy

The Arizona Relationship Institute proudly utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in our couples, group, and individual counseling and therapy sessions. DBT has been shown to be successful in dealing with numerous issues in couples and individuals.

What Is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)?

DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy that has been successfully used since the early ‘90’s to treat a wide variety of mental health conditions in the inpatient as well as the outpatient level of care.

Benefits of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

DBT has been used to treat substance abuse disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders and other mental health disorders that have been resistant to other methods of cognitive therapy.

The AZRI DBT Skills Group

DBT Skills Group offers the individual the ability to learn each of the skills while exploring how they can be used within self and among others.  The group experience greatly increases the therapeutic benefits over individual work as attendees are encouraged to share their experiences, and offer validation and relatability to each other.  The group is for anyone who struggles with anxiety, depression, negative thoughts, unsatisfying relationships and other mental health afflictions and would like to learn solid, practical skills to improve their quality of life.

What Are The 4 Modules of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)?

DBT is comprised of four modules: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills.  Each module focuses on managing overwhelming emotions, breaking destructive patterns, decreasing impulsive behaviors, creating and maintaining healthy relationships and cultivating a non-judgmental awareness of self and others.  DBT has been used to treat substance abuse disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders and other mental health disorders that have been resistant to other methods of cognitive therapy.
