Being a teenager has plenty of perks—being able to see rated-R movies, homecoming/prom, learning about hobbies and interests, forming new relationships, obtaining your driver’s permit/license, and being able to get a job; however, it also comes with its own challenges. There are changes happening in the body, pressure to do well in school, creating and maintaining healthy relationships with family and peers, having to follow rules and meet expectations at home/school, navigating technology/social media, and learning how to balance independence all while beginning to transition into an adult. The Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group for Teens aged 13-17 is a weekly meeting where teens can work through anxiety/stress, identify and understand their emotions, and learn to effectively communicate with others. If you are interested in joining the AZRI counselors and other teens through the journey of acquiring skills for mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance and emotional regulation, please inquire with administration or your counselor.
