Carolyn holds a master’s degree in social work and brings over 8 years of post-graduate clinical experience working with individuals, teens, and families. She approaches therapy with unconditional positive regard, integrating techniques from positive psychology and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to support clients in navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and betrayal.
Carolyn specializes in working with adults who have experienced complex trauma and betrayal trauma, helping them process painful experiences, reduce emotional reactivity, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust. Through the use of EMDR and other evidence-based approaches, she supports clients in moving through unresolved experiences and creating lasting emotional change.
She also works closely with teens and young adults as they navigate life transitions, including identity development, independence, and the challenges of early adulthood.
In her work with families, Carolyn helps parents and children strengthen emotional awareness, improve communication, and develop effective self-regulation skills. She creates a supportive and engaging environment where clients of all ages can explore their thoughts and feelings through art, music, writing, and traditional talk therapy.
Before becoming a therapist, Carolyn spent over a decade teaching martial arts to students ranging from young children to seniors. This experience informs her structured yet compassionate approach, incorporating behavioral strategies, discipline, and mind-body awareness into her work. She helps clients build both emotional resilience and personal strength.
